On the Hogwart's Express

Ryou slips into an empty compartment and stares out the window at the bustling platform. She twirls her wand absently between her fingers, getting used to it's weight and texture.

A few minutes later, her compartment door opens.

"Ah, I see. Well I'm sure you'll do great there anyway!" Gwen smiles reassuringly at her, "What classes are you looking forward to?"

"Transfiguration and herbology. You?"

Gwen laughs, "Considering I'm a muggle born and all that, I don't really have a great grasp on all of this quite yet."

"What was it like to find out you're a witch?"

[thrown_in]

"Considering this is a long train ride, I guess you don't mind me telling you the whole story then?"

[probability_of_here]

"Go ahead, I'm curious."

[thrown_in]

"Ok then," Gwen grins "It was personaly one of the greatest days of my life, even though my dad might disagree. So my mum, dad, brother, and I were all eating dinner like anyother day. Then, out of nowhere, this lady wearing black robes and a tall black hat just appears in the dining room with a bang! She walks over to me and says, 'You are Gwen I assume?' So I just nod, scared out of my wits, and she hands me an envelope and says, 'I am Professer McGonagall, I am headmistriss at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I apologize for the fright of my apparation, but I'm currently out of floo powder.' Anyway, she goes on to explain about Hogwarts, houses, classes, magic, Diagon Alley, and finally asks me to please open the envelope and read it aloud so my family will know whats going on. At this point my dad stood up and demanded her to dop the act and get out of our house, but Professer McGonagall just walked up to him and pointed her wand at his water glass. It turned into a mouse which she promptley gave to my brother, he's 5 by the way, and after that my whole family believed her. as for me, I was just in shock but really excited!"

Ryou laughs, "That sounds like fun. I'm more than ready to learn how to do magic."

"I know right! I think it'll be awesome to be able to threaten my brother into doing my chores!"

[probability_of_here]

"My brother is already at Hogwarts unfortunately, so threats probably won't work on him."

[thrown_in]

"Oh ya, that sucks. Wait, is your whole family magic?"

[probability_of_here]

"Yep. My parents are from the prejudiced pureblood group I mentioned earlier."

[thrown_in]

"Oh," Gwen is at a loss for what to say. "Well, you seemed to turn out alright."

[probability_of_here]

"It seems silly to me. My brother's bought into it though."

[thrown_in]

"Who's your brother?"

[probability_of_here]

"Scorpius Malfoy."

[thrown_in]

"That's a very interesting name."

[probability_of_here]

Gwen and Ryou lapse into a comfortable silence with occasional bursts of conversation.

Eventually the train begins to slow.
"We're here," Ryou says.

Gwen grins in excitment. "I can't believe we're actually here! Are you as excited as I am?"

"Maybe not quite as excited," Ryou says, laughing.
They join the crowd streaming out of the train.

"Ya, I'm pretty excited!" Gwen laughs as the two girls stand on the platform. "Where are we supposed to go now?"

A friendly voice calls, "First years! First years come over here!"
The two follow the sound to see a tall, friendly man holding a lamp.
"I think that's Professor Longbottom," Ryou says.

"Oh cool!" Gwen sticks out her hand to Professer Longbottom, "Hi Sir, nice to meet you."

Professor Longbottom shakes her hand and gives her a warm smile, "It's nice to meet you."
He raises his voice, "Everyone get into a boat!"

Gwen and Ryou get into one of the boat sitting at the edge of a large black lake and wait for the rest of the first year students to join the throng.
