You would not believe the month I've had.

I really did mean to get back to you within a few weeks of my last message, but circumstances intervened. On the other hand, it seems to have worked out all right this way, because there's an Ash and Stars tour coming up and I'm not dead yet. How would you like to attend a concert in addition to raiding the comm nets?

"Hey, as long as we're casually gating me hither and thither, any chance you could drop me in Limbo instead of just back in Hell? Or somewhere that's a little more urgently needy if you have one in mind, but Limbo in particular I've been fantasizing on-and-off about sprucing up since I found out it existed, I could do a lot with demon magic alone and even short-range very careful taieli could be a huge help, and I could see my parents again."

"Sure, no problem. Although I'm not completely sure how gating and summoning interact, so if you're planning on a long stay in Limbo, be warned that I could die unpredictably and unsummon you. If you're very sure that you can prevent anyone from seeing it, Mother could gate to you in Hell and then gate you to Limbo from there, and you won't have to worry about me suddenly encountering a workplace hazard."

"There really shouldn't be anyone in my house, but it's kind of hard to proof a house against demon burglars if for some reason a demon decided to burgle me. So it's unlikely for motivation reasons - to wit, why would a demon want to steal anything from my house when they could just make a clean copy elsewhere to rifle through and not be intruding, and why would anyone be that interested in me in particular in the first place. I'd take the risk but it's up to you."

"Yeah. If you had any longstanding enemies who might come by to vandalize your house, that sort of thing, then I'd be worried."

"I am happily free of such commodities. At least in Hell. I mean, there are people who might be mad at me but if they were both demons now and inclined to track me down they would have done it already."

"Tails are great. And they can still move around any which way as long as I'm not trying to outright spell things, under a gag."

"I can see the appeal."

"It used to be more relevant for that purpose. I still like it though." Tail-lash. "Having ransacked your magic library, I can leave whenever it's convenient for your mother, I suppose."

"Yeah. I'll see if she's busy."

Off he traipses in search of his mother.

Cam makes small objects and practices disappearing them, first whole and then piecemeal with epru, and copying them just the same or with different features changed. He contemplates the safe parameters of experiments involving accelerating new-made objects with ileyi as soon as they are made to circumvent the "no creating stuff in motion" limitation.

Miles returns.

"Yeah, she has time for some gating around. Shall I send you home?"

"Sure, thanks!"

"See you."

Unsummon, unsummon, unsummon.

And shortly after Cam arrives in his house, Cordelia gates to him.

"Hello again."

"Hi. Can gates hit a moving vehicle safely? My mother would take the surprise better than my father and would be harder to find, and she's less likely to be stationary. ...She might have company but Limboites are themselves harmless, the only trouble would be they might send mail. My father might have company prone to sending mail too, perhaps you'd better just put me outside the inhabited sprawl."
