That wasn't supposed to happen

The parameters are recalibrated, the dial is spun, and a new universe is selected.
It won't be home--they haven't collected anywhere near enough coordinate data to think they can find home yet--but it will be another step closer.
And who knows, it might be interesting.
Edie steps through the portal first.

"So what kinds of materials are there to make wings out of? Besides the Souls of Flight."

"Most of them come from flying monsters, but there's also Souls of Light and Souls of Night, which come from any monsters killed in certain areas. I asked the guide person-thing for the whole list of things you can make with Souls of Flight once, but I don't remember them all."

"Hm.
We should probably eat something, I guarantee you Emily forgot while she was altering the armor."

"Oh, that," he says. "Yeah. Terraria food is, um, not that great, but I have some mushrooms and fish if you want."

"We brought our own food. It's not wise to bet that a strange universe will have safe, obvious edibles. Would you like something not mushrooms and fish?"

"That would be very nice."

Edie opens her leather satchel, which has so far gone unmentioned because travelers carrying bags is particularly unremarkable, and starts rummaging around in it. Her arm goes in farther than it looks like the bag has room for, but she comes out with some reddish bread and oranges.

"Thank you," he says. "The mushrooms and fish are probably better if you haven't been eating them for six years, if you want to try some."

"Sure. Mushrooms and fish are tasty, in my experience."

He produces some miniature mushrooms and fish and de-miniaturizes a few instances. The mushrooms are odd-looking, but the fish seems fairly normal.

Edie looks at the mushrooms suspiciously, but this world has been established as weird enough that they're probably not poisonous.
Om nom mushrooms. Om nom fish.

Om nom mushrooms and fish! Emily did in fact not stop to eat anything while she was working on the armor.

And Sivath eats reddish bread and oranges. He seems to approve.

And not too long after that it is probably time to turn in for the night.

"Is it okay if I stay in the guest room? I can go outside and build myself another house if you'd rather."

"You built it, it would be pretty damn rude for us to kick you out. But no, even aside from that we have no objection to you using the guest room."

"Okay. Goodnight."

Sivath goes to sleep in the guest room, and in the morning he wakes up early and goes out to collect fallen stars before the sun rises. He leaves a miniaturized 99 Mushrooms in the house in case Edie or Emily wakes up and wants mushrooms.

When he gets back he may find Edie running laps around the house.

"Good morning," he says as she passes by.
