There are things her magic can't do after all.

Temperance wouldn't expect her magic to be capable of transporting people between worlds. But she stood here in this new world as a living proof. She still had no explanation to what that creature was, but she couldn’t argue it was the reason she was here. Temperance tried to figured out a divination to look into the past of other worlds, to understand the creature better, but failed. She tried one to look at her own past, but had only marginal success.

Next she tries to create a spell to travel between worlds while also doing a few side projects. Very small stuff when compared to the great healing ritual, mostly to build a spell library of her own.

Temperance’s side projects are completed and replaced. She starts doing magical favors for the Institute and eventually gets a small room to work as her office (mostly because Sophie didn’t like people knocking on their door). Temperance wrote down everything she knew about the next three decades and a half. She starts a new herb garden for herself. The second wave of side projects is completed.

The interworld travel spell project made no advances of any kind.

It was time to consider other alternatives, maybe there are things her magic can't do after all. Edie suggested science next.

One day Dr. Hank McCoy might hear a knock at the door.

A few hours later, she is woken by a gentle telepathic nudge. "We're here," Erika says.

Meghan wakes up slowly, her eyes adjusting, but she quickly stands up and goes to stay by her mother side.

It is unclear if she did it on purpose but she standing away from the twins and Temperance.

And everyone unconscious and/or otherwise in need of medical care is carefully transported to the infirmary.

Temperance doesn't go to the infirmary but let's it be know that she can be called to help.

The twins have a telepathic exchange and Ezra goes off to make a phone call.

Arya follows the infirmary contingent. She walks feeling, for the first time since she got her powers, that is better to walk than fly.

Erika unwraps the (now telepathically enforcedly docile) kidnapper from the gratuitous amount of metal.

Meghan takes a step back and looks away, her gaze meeting Arya's.

Arya notices the fearful gaze and decides to respond by staring at the kidnapper, chin raised, eyes piercing with cold anger.

The kidnapper does not meet her gaze. The kidnapper has a blank, vacant expression on his face. He walks towards the unconscious Franklyn mechanically.

That wasn't for the kidnapper's benefit.

Unconscious Franklyn remains unconscious and a Franklyn, but the Professor can undo the transformations, it is actually easier to unmake them than the opposite, they are distinct from the regular body parts.

...And Meghan will be there to help.

Even so; the initial process took place over the course of a long time, and the Professor is taking absolutely no chances. It's going to be several hours before Franklyn is restored to his original state.

At some point Arya sits down and falls asleep. Ezra comes by and sits next to her, he tries and fails to read a book and eventually falls asleep too.

After a couple of hours Meghan asks for something to eat and drink. She also takes a bathroom break, but otherwise stays put.

Meghan gets a glass of water and something that isn't going to make a mess to eat. And eventually, finally, all the alterations to Franklyn have been removed.

"Are you going to wake him up?" Meghan asks.

"Right now, it's better to let him sleep for a while," Charles says. "He's perfectly healthy, but this much change has exhausted his system."

Meghan nods, her face pained.

"What do I do now?"

[maggie_of_the_owls]

"Right now, there isn't much to be done. It's getting late. I know you slept on the Blackbird, but everyone else is going to need some rest before they're functional again."

"Okay," Meghan responds then after a moment she adds "Could I eat more and take a shower?"

"Of course. Do you want me to show you the way, or would you rather be alone," he asks.

"You can show me, but I don't need company"

There is a smallish pantry separate from the dining hall for when students need between meals snacks (and with some of the odd metabolisms that come through, that is sometimes a need and not a want). Charles shows her the way there and then gives her directions to a bathroom with showers and travel toiletries.
