Well, then, Sivath puts the blueberries on a table and sits quietly and thinks about architecture.

After a while Emily will admit to being awake. She wanders over. "G'morning."

"Good morning. I found more blueberries."

[iamnotpolaris]

"Thanks. Fresh fruits tricky to carry around, so we don't get to have that as much as some other things."

"Well, Terraria fruit keeps forever as long as it's miniaturized. But there aren't very many kinds of Terraria fruit. Mostly it's blueberries."

[iamnotpolaris]

"Oh, good to know! Not that that should surprise me, Terrarian miniaturization seems endlessly convenient."

"It is one of the nice things about Terraria."

[iamnotpolaris]

"Yeah, no kidding."

[not_only]

"When do you think the calibrator will be finished?"

[iamnotpolaris]

"...It probably actually did a few minutes ago, I just wasn't in a huge hurry to leave the instant minute it was done."

Shrug. "Well, when do you want to go get it, then?"

[iamnotpolaris]

"Once Edie's finished her morning run and had something to eat."

He nods.

And eventually Edie will come inside. She pulls a water bottle out of the space-folding bag and then makes a beeline for the blueberries.

Sivath smiles slightly in greeting and then goes back to designing houses in his head.

After she's eaten, she'll disappear briefly to her room to change into clothes less suited to running. When she emerges, she says, "I'm ready to go. Time to go pick up the calibrator?"

"Sounds like it is," says Sivath.

She will definitely explain what she's doing, then. Aaaand universe selected. Hopefully not a wasteland, this time, the last handful of universes have been a touch lacking in civilization.

Not exactly a metropolis, either. It's a beach. A very nice beach, with pale sand and pretty rocks. Over thataway is an ocean, and over thataway is a forest.

"Well, there's plenty of animal life here, and exactly one person."

She sends out a minute telepathic probe, trying to get a sense of the person without actually violating their privacy.

The second thing she notices is that the mind seems to be running off of two brains.

The first thing she notices is that it is brilliant.

Not bright like another telepath. Not bright like a genius. But some kind of entirely new kind of impressive, of standing-out, of (yes here this this is a thing this is special notice me notice me).

Her knees buckle, and she distantly notices her sister catching her and keeping her upright.

When Edie collapses on her sister, Sivath's Pulse Bow appears in his hand near-instantly - no magic, or at least no more magic than the deminiaturization, just good reflexes and the foresight to keep one's weapons easily accessible.

"What's wrong?" he asks, glancing around warily.
