there's only so much I can turn into
The thirteen-year-old girl is coming back home from school, on foot.
There's a cat following her. It's been following her for a while, but from a distance.
She decides to be friendly. She stops and turns around to look at it. It stops as well. "Mow?"
The girl's face- changes. It's still a human face, mostly, but now there's something different about it. More feline than anything. Whiskers grow, her pupils dilate and her eyes get a bit rounder, her bones move under her skin, their shape changing a bit. "Mew," she says, vocal apparatus having changed a bit, apparently.
The cat blinks and approaches cautiously. "Moow...?"
She doesn't giggle, but she feels like giggling. She's talking to a kitty! Well, kinda talking to a kitty, it's not like she can understand kitty-speech. But still! "Maw!"

Chug, swallow, clean. "One of them can download my brain with a touch," he says, deadpan. "Why didn't you tell me this before?!" he growls again, dropping into a crouch for a second before straightening up again. Godsdamnit vampire brain!

But then he hmms. "Should I avoid smelling, though? That's an entire sense I'd be discarding, and while if that's the only way I can not-be-a-murderer I'll gladly do it, the little I experienced of it was on par in awesomeness with my current vision. And if I ever do need it, I'm not sure it'd be that great to never have gotten used to human scent."

"Okay, good points all, where do you suggest?"

"Yeah it is quite big a deal to me I think I want some less direct-contact tests before going with that. Maybe look at someone from a distance." Pause. "And I was not expecting humans to be quite this tasty, I had expected to come back after three days, and I don't have internet here. Fudge."
