A Rose, Unnaturally

The lockpicks slide against each other with a gentle metal-on-metal sheeee, then click solidly into place.

Sophia smiles beneath her mask. "Got it."

Sophia's flower is disinclined to heal. Although if she tries to do magic with it, she might notice it displaying the capacity to move small nearby objects.

Sophia blinks, then tries to pick up one of Rose's books from her piling system across the room.

Gosh, those books are heavy. And far. She can shift them, sort of, but the effort involved is inordinate.

Okay. Her coat is already fairly ripped up, she won't miss a button. Can she levitate a button if she removes one from her coat?

She can levitate the heck out of that button!

[four_is_death]

... She's missing the obvious, she has a lockpick set. How many little tools can she manage at once?

Well, one. Almost two, though, the second one twitches. Maybe she can do two with practice.

Still, if she has a key...

Eyes seems to have noticed the levitation.

"Okay, the roses are pretty magic."

[last_one_out]

"Useful," comments Aaron.

[four_is_death]

"Did you all get anything useful, or could Sable already fly?"

[last_one_out]

"The flying is new."

[four_is_death]

"Maybe you two should also check for mysterious new powers."

[last_one_out]

"Maybe we should," he agrees. "Going by what happened with my magic weapons, I'm guessing my flowers do heat and cold."

Then he consults with the other unclassified rose-bearer.

The other unclassified rose-bearer produces an extra flower, blue and purple like Sophie's but with flower and petal colours reversed.

"He's not sure what his flower does, but wants to know if anybody feels like taking the spare," Aaron reports.

Slab shrugs. "I'll take it. Even though the petals are garish, I'm willing to offend my aesthetic sensibilities in exchange for magic."

Mark tosses the flower in Slab's direction.

Slab stretches out to catch it, but Mark's weak toss means the flower is well out of his reach.

Instinctively, Sophia tries to catch it with her new telekinesis.

Telekinesis: success!

[four_is_death]

Sophia floats the rose over to herself.

"Slab, if the fancy petal-clothes bug you so much, I'll happily take this one instead."

Slab glares... But doesn't argue.

[four_is_death]

Sophia smiles. "I'm glad to see you don't mind."

Then she drives the rose's sharp point into her arm.

Sophia's petalsuit reconfigures to accomodate the second contribution. Now she has two roses, blue/purple and purple/blue.

Is her telekinesis stronger? Why yes it is!
